GD Cloud Innovation Portal (CIP) for saving lives supports mission-oriented innovations that demonstrate FBI-defined leading edge technologies (LETs) such as hybrid multi-cloud (AzureGov; GovCloud), cloud security (ZTA) and scaling, container development, mobile UI/WebContentManagement, and AI ML NLP for ITECS BPA – the future of DOJ IT. The PoC (proof of concept) labs of the GD CIP demonstrate the technical feasibility of GD solutions for the federal mission challenges, and are reusable across multiple task orders that may amplify the mission capabilities such as NCIC N3G (needs cloud migration, security, and scaling solutions), NGI, or other CJIS CSA components.
The Mass Shooting Early Warning (MSEW) PoC system is a sample innovation of the GD CIP that covers IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS layers of a multi-cloud solution architecture. The primary purpose of the MSEW PoC is field-testing the approaches to materialize the three layers of the conceptual cloud architecture; and secondly, providing new insight to the FBI director for catching a mass shooter before he strikes.

How to Assess and Spot a Mass Shooter by Early Signs?
We are developing and training the knowledge structure of the MSEW cloud robot (“FBI MSEW R2”) that uses AI natural language understanding (NLU) algorithms to understand these questions and solutions.
R2 robot, the AI cloud engine behind GD MSEW mobile and Web interface, supports FBI BTAC (Behavioral Threat Assessment Center) or other units through AI NLP algorithms to interactively assess the early signs for end users. For FBI Call centers, MSEW attempts to upgrade the traditional functions enabled by human telephone calls with smart self-service functions enabled by the cloud robotic engine (“R2”).
